At Pony Paddock, our long-standing motto, “Life lessons through the joys of horsemanship,” continues to guide everything we do. We believe that the unique bond between people and horses fosters essential life skills, helping them grow into responsible, well-adjusted adults.
Horseback riding at Pony Paddock offers invaluable lessons that extend far beyond the arena. Students will learn:
We offer horseback riding lessons for children aged 5 and up. For our younger enthusiasts, we also provide pony rides.
To ensure steady progress and develop crucial muscle memory, we strongly recommend that students ride at least once per week. Horseback riding is a fantastic physical activity, burning up to 350 calories per half-hour lesson! Just like any sport, the more a student rides, the faster their skills will develop.
It’s never too late to learn! We also teach adults to ride, with a diverse selection of horses and ponies suitable for almost everyone. We can get you comfortable on a horse, improve your skills in dressage and jumping, or get you ready for competition.
All new students begin with individual lessons. This personalized approach ensures a strong foundation in horsemanship and control at the walk and trot. Once a rider can confidently tack their horse and demonstrate control, they’ll have the option to transition into group lessons. These groups are carefully formed based on rider ability, ensuring an optimal learning environment for everyone.
For the safety of all our riders, ASTM/SEI-approved helmets are mandatory, and a signed Release Form must be on file with our office prior to participating in any riding activity.
Molly is available for offsite lessons Tuesday through Friday within a 15 miles radius of Pony Paddock.
All our lessons are scheduled online through the link below. Our scheduling program allows you to reschedule lessons up to 24 hours in advance of start date. Lessons cancelled due to weather will be rescheduled by Pony Paddock.
Please note that for the well-being of our animals, we have a 200lb weight limit, as horses and ponies can comfortably carry approximately 20% of their body weight.
While Pony Paddock tailors riding lessons to each student, we are not able to accommodate individuals with physical limitations. Individuals with physical limitations should contact a therapeutic riding center.
